Hurricane PZ865 Visits Aviation Park Group at Hawarden Airport

There are fuel stops, and then there are fuel stops involving one of Britain’s most recognisable historic aircraft.

RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Hurricane PZ865 called at Aviation Park Group, Hawarden Airport in August 2026. The aircraft stopped briefly for fuel, while its pilot took the opportunity to have some lunch before continuing to the next display.

Our team regularly supports corporate, private and general aviation at Hawarden Airport. Every aircraft receives the same careful attention, but the arrival of a Hurricane will always attract a little extra interest.

The Hurricane played a major role during the Second World War and accounted for more enemy aircraft destroyed during the Battle of Britain than all other British aircraft and ground defences combined.

Today, PZ865 is operated by the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. It appears at air shows, commemorative events and public displays across the UK, helping to keep the story of the Hurricane and those who flew it in public view.

PZ865’s visit was brief, but it gave our team and others at the airport a welcome opportunity to see the aircraft at close quarters.

We were pleased to provide the fuel and support needed before the aircraft departed for its next engagement.
